Originally an in-house program located at Duke University in North Carolina, you can follow the Rice diet at home by following the guidelines in “The Rice Diet Solution.” The plan may not be a good fit for everyone. Talk to your doctor before beginning. The Rice diet is divided into three phases.
Lunch – 1 grapefruit, 1 cup of cottage cheese, 1 slice of whole bran bread, tea or coffee. Snack – 1 granola cereal bar. Dinner – 7 oz of grilled or broiled fish, 1 cup of steamed vegetables, tea or coffee. Breakfast – 1 grapefruit or juice from 1 grapefruit, 1/2 cup of granola cereal with dry fruit, nuts and 3 tablespoons of yogurt. People susceptible to gout are advised to prepare a gout diet foods and arrange them systematically in the menu gout diet. While these foods are difficult to avoid, especially purine-rich foods, they can at least be minimized when you are planning to make some recipes gout.
